A written experience.

To write a story takes time and effort.
To write a story takes feeling - hardship and elation.

To write a story I need just enough time to strike my keys.
To write a story I need only the feelings that I've already lived...
and the feelings I can imagine it would take to live.

Somehow writing is both easy and extremely difficult at the same time.

  1. Thanks for stopping by! Life's crazy here. At least both of my monsters are in school today. I couldn't deal with having the boy home another day after having him all last week. Glad he's feeling better, but sheesh!

I've been a bad blogger lately too. I really enjoyed the pictures from Montana -- should have mentioned that when I looked at them. DD did her state speech on Montana and now she wants to go there for a vacation or something.

I really liked this post, lots to think about. I was especially struck by the lines about writing taking time and effort and finding the time to strike the keys. I'm down to about 7 pages but just getting motivated to do it is the hard part with so many other obligations this time of year.

Have a great holiday if we don't cross paths in the next week!

  2. I'm glad you stopped by! Keep your spirits up... or going down, whichever works best for you. :D

    Merry christmas, Kaige.

  3. Amen sistah! Writing during the holidays has been VERY hit or miss. Kudos to you for getting to it.
I, too, love the pics from Great Falls. My mother grew up in Billings and we used to visit my Grandparent's cabin south of Big Timber.
I loved it there, but I understand your reluctance.
